We Want To Leave The World A Better Place Than We Found It!

This partnership presents a new opportunity to accelerate Sundial’s purpose-driven way of doing business called Community Commerce, which includes expanding our sustainable sourcing model globally. Making an impact isn’t just how – but also why – we do business. You might say that we’ve set out to change the way the world does business – and you’d be right. (For example, since we began purchasing our raw shea butter directly from women’s cooperatives in rural northern Ghana, 4,000 women now play an integral role in providing the shea butter used in our products and benefit from the above-market prices and fair trade ethical wage premiums we pay. We have invested in infrastructure in their communities, including bringing piped, fresh water for the first time, which has impacted thousands more. We’ve also instituted techniques in the shea butter production process that have reduced use of fuel wood by 45 percent and water use by 15 percent. In addition, a portion of the proceeds from Community Commerce product collections go to women-led businesses, communities that supply Sundial’s product ingredients and The Sofi Tucker Foundation – which seeks to economically empower women, their families and communities in the United States and in Africa. These proceeds result in life-changing benefits for the women and families in our full supply chain, including education, health insurance and clean water. From sourcing to shelf, we are key to each other’s success.)
